The predecessor of Civil Engineering Academy of Jiangxi Province was the Taihe Branch of the Chinese Society of Engineers, which was founded in 1942 (Taihe is the capital city of Jiangxi province at that time), with a professional academic organization of civil, architecture, water conservancy and bridges, until the eve of the founding of the people's Republic of China.
In 1952, the Nanchang branch of China Civil Engineering Society was established. In 1964, it was renamed the Chinese Civil Engineering Society and the Jiangxi branch of the Chinese Architectural Society. The academy was forced to suspend activities during the cultural revolution. Resumed in November 1979, now the fourth council, with the following 13 Specialized Committee and research institutes: architectural creation, architecture, construction, construction economy, building and electrical, HVAC, thermal power, urban planning, municipal engineering, city gas, garden greening, computer applications, space structure Professional Committee The association and the scientific research association of construction co ordinate and management. 6 Specialized Committee are preparing for construction: Village and town construction, foundation, concrete, engineering anti-seismic, water supply and drainage, building materials.
The academic activities of the academy mainly focus on urban planning, urban reconstruction, housing construction and other aspects, and actively carry out academic exchanges, design program competition, advanced construction technology promotion and application and local special research and research. These activities played an academic leading role in promoting the development of Engineering Technology in this province.
